One of my favourite single vineyard Chardonnays from Au Bon Climat. Fermented in 75% new oak and left on lees for just over a year giving a very different profile to the Sanford vineyard. This is more nutty, yeasty and caramel-like on the nose. There is this clear macadamia, vanilla biscuit and macaron aroma on the nose. This breaks into a saline, lemon pith and baked mandarin palate. Fantastic.
